Paola Calvachi

Paola Calvachi received a medical degree from the Andes University in Bogotá, Colombia in 2015 and a master’s degree in Bioengineering from the same university in 2017. During that time, she was working at the intersection of medicine and bioengineering at her university and in different hospitals around Bogotá. In 2018 she joined the department of Neurosurgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Currently, she is working as a research fellow and pursuing a degree in Biomedical Informatics at Harvard which she will complete in 2021. Her areas of expertise include data analysis, medical imaging and implementation of different biomedical techniques into medicine. Right now, her interests are focused on creating assistive technologies for people in rural areas without medical access. Paola had worked as a physician, teacher and researcher, while her next step will include working in improving the health care systems of low-income countries.
