Ricardo A. Rodríguez

Ricardo A. Rodriguez is the Chief IT Officer at American Financial Systems and CSO of AFS Securities, leading Software Development and IT Operations, and member of its Board of Directors. Prior to this, he was Second Vice-President for Guardian Life Insurance, and held other positions in the same arena, as well as founded two IT-related companies. He has a strong interest in non-profit organizations, currently Vice-President of NEACOL, a non-profit organization focused on Colombian Children, and a Business Mentor with eForAll, a Latino entrepreneurship incubator. He was also part of the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) as STEM advisor.

His academic background includes an M.B.A. and a M.Sc. in Finance from HULT International Business School. a Master's Degree in Information Management Systems from Harvard University, a B.S. in Computer Sciences from Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria and four years of Electronic Engineering and Mathematics at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He holds a Series 6 Securities license, Project Management and CISSP/CEH training and was a Teaching Assistant/Fellow at Harvard University and Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria, teaching Software Development and Database Design.

Ricardo has published research in the computer technology field in academic scenarios and magazines of national circulation such as MSDN Magazine and VB Advisor. He has also been selected as one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics in Information Technology in the U.S” by HITEC for six consecutive years and featured by Hispanic Engineer & IT Magazine as one of the “Top Hispanics in Computer Science and Computer Engineering”.
